You will meet with your English-speaking guide in the hotel lobby this morning and depart on a half day tour with a local driver in a luxury minivan that will allow you to discover the Gaudi sites in the magnificent city of Barcelona. You will see Casa Batlló, Casa Milà, Sagrada Familia (Skip the Line tickets included), Parc Güell (skip the line entrance tickets included), Barceloneta and the Olympic Harbor. The rest of the day is free to explore the city further at your leisure.

Today, enjoy the scheduled Barri Gotic Tapas Tour which takes you through Barcelona’s famous Gothic Quarter, in the Ciutat Vella (old city) – past Roman walls, alongside cathedrals, through precious plazas and, most importantly, in-and-out of small local restaurants that will leave you sated, jolly, and with a better understanding of local Catalan and national Spanish cuisine. The Barcelona Taste launched in 2009 with food tours of Gótico and these tours are therefore our first love. They are a wonderful traditional option in Barcelona’s most historic setting. Transfers and 1^st Class Rail from Barcelona to Madrid.

You will meet with your driver and be privately transferred to Barcelona rail station. We include tickets on the train from Barcelona to Madrid and on arrival at Madrid Puerta de Atocha rail station, you will be met by a driver holding a sign with your name on it and privately transferred to your hotel.

Private Walking Tour of Madrid: Some time to get a quick lunch before you meet with a local English-speaking guide in your hotel lobby and begin a 4-hour private walking tour of Madrid. Your tour will cover the highlights of the city and we include skip-the-line entry to The Royal Palace and tour will end at the Prado Museum where timed entrance fees are included.

Prado Museum: The building that today houses the Museo Nacional del Prado was designed by architect Juan de Villanueva in 1785. It was constructed to house the Natural History Cabinet, by orders of King Charles III. However, the building's final purpose - as the new Royal Museum of Paintings and Sculptures - was the decision of the monarch's grandson, King Ferdinand VII, encouraged by his wife Queen Maria Isabel de Braganza. The Royal Museum, soon quickly renamed the National Museum of Paintings and Sculptures and subsequently the Museo Nacional del Prado, opened to the public for the first time in November 1819.

Private Ribera del Duero Wine Tour.

Pick up from your hotel this morning for a private full day wine tour. The Duero River at Ribera del Duero, also known as the river of wine, is about 2 hours from Madrid and it is the home of Tempranillo, the most famous Spanish grape variety. Red wines with full body and lots of fruit. You will visit three of their most representative wineries and cellars, modern and traditional, and their vineyards. You will do a full visit in one of them, learning about winemaking in Ribera (riverside in Spanish), and understanding Tempranillo wine from the grape to the bottle. Return to Madrid late this afternoon.

Free Day in Madrid

Enjoy a day at leisure in Madrid. Spain's central capital, is a city of elegant boulevards and expansive, manicured parks such as the Buen Retiro. It’s renowned for its rich repositories of European art, including the Prado Museum’s works by Goya, Velázquez and other Spanish masters. The heart of old Hapsburg Madrid is the portico-lined Plaza Mayor, and nearby is the baroque Royal Palace and Armory, displaying historic weaponry.

This evening, you will be privately transferred from your hotel to the Corral de la Moreria for a 6.30PM dinner reservation with a Flamenco show. After the show, meet your driver for a transfer back to your hotel.
