Rome is the capital city of Italy. The best way to see Rome’s sights is mainly on foot so why not visit Centro Storico, Rome’s historic centre. Don’t miss the Pantheon, a magnificently preserved ancient Roman temple, with a circular hole in the huge domed roof open to the heavens. A couple of streets away is the splendid Piazza Navona, Rome’s elegant showcase square.

A short amble further and you’re at the foaming, massive Trevi Fountain, and the baroque Spanish Steps, a grand stairway that’s perfect for taking a perch and watching the world go by. Day 2

PRIVATE HALF DAY VATICAN MUSEUMS, SISTINE CHAPEL AND ST. PETER’S SQUARE

This morning you will be privately transferred from your hotel where on arrival at the Vatican Museums, your guide will lead you into the museum. Not only is the Vatican Museums complex the largest museum in the world, but it is also one of the world’s richest and most valuable museums.

Take the tour of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel with no queue at all! No stress to access the Vatican: your professional guide will take you inside and accompany you in a memorable visit to one of the most important art collections worldwide. Admire the numerous halls of the museum, including the spiral staircase, the beautiful Raphael’s rooms and their famous paintings, before entering the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo’s masterpiece.

On your way out from the Sistine Chapel, you will go inside St. Peter’s Basilica through an exclusive access, skipping long lines. The tour wouldn’t be complete without a walk in St. Peter’s Square, the open space before the basilica, redesigned by G. L. Bernini, an architectural masterpiece of the Baroque age.

The tour will end at the Vatican and you may wish to explore the area further before an afternoon at leisure.

Italy7day 2 Museum In Vatican City

Day 3

PRIVATE TOUR OF THE COLOSSEUM, ROMAN FORUM AND PALATINE HILL

Take a complete tour of ancient Rome's major sights and skip the queues for the archaeological area. Gain your special access to the Colosseum and, once inside, breathe the bloody past of the amphitheatre and its atmosphere led by passionate and expert guides. We include a transfer from your hotel to the Colosseum. At the end of the tour your guide will depart and the rest of the afternoon is free.

The Colosseum is a must-see for every traveller who visits Rome. The majestic amphitheater used to be the heart of imperial Rome’s entertainment: this huge travertine and tuff structure could hold between 50,000 and 80,000 spectators, all hungering for pretty gory shows such as hunting games or gladiatorial fights. A professionally guided tour is the perfect way to fully enjoy a walk inside the Colosseum and learn more about the building and what happened back in 80 AD, when the venue hosted one hundred days of inaugural games free for the citizens to enjoy.

Your guide will provide you with priority skip-the-line access tickets and the tour includes a guided walk in the Roman Forum, the cultural and political centre of Ancient Rome, as well as a stroll around the Palatine Hill, the area where the city of Rome was legendary founded by Romulus and where the emperors used to live for centuries.

En-route we include a stop for a guided tour of Pompeii with a local English-speaking guide (with entrance fees).

In Pompeii, you will meet an expert local guide for a private guided tour. Entrance fees are also included and arranged by your guide. Pompeii is a vast archaeological site in southern Italy’s Campania region, near the coast of the Bay of Naples. Once a thriving and sophisticated Roman city, Pompeii was buried under meters of ash and pumice after the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. The preserved site features excavated ruins of streets and houses

Sorrento is a coastal town in southwestern Italy, facing the Bay of Naples on the Sorrentine Peninsula. Perched atop cliffs that separate the town from its busy marinas, it’s known for sweeping water views and Piazza Tasso, a cafe-lined square. The historic center is a warren of narrow alleys that's home to the Chiesa di San Francesco, a 14th-century church with a tranquil cloister.

Day 6

PRIVATE AMALFI COAST TOUR WITH ENGLISH SPEAKING DRIVER/GUIDE

This morning, meet with your driver and expert local guide in the lobby for a full day of private touring along the Amalfi Coast to see the villages of Positano and Amalfi. See this stunning region at your own pace making stops in the most beautiful villages in Southern Italy. Get a true taste of the region’s rich history, architecture, cuisine and more. Amalfi’s typically Mediterranean architecture, made up of lanes and characteristic white houses piled one upon the other, makes it one of Italy’s most famous resorts.

In the late afternoon you will return to the hotel for an evening at your leisure. We can make restaurant suggestions and reservations for you.

Positano is so photogenic with its sun bleached, pink and terracotta houses steeping along the seaside. Streets are full of colorful wisteria and bougainvillea draped hotels, restaurants and shops. The southern Italian holiday feel is prominent here, with sunbathers gobbling up pizza and gelato on the beach. Fashion has imprinted fiercely here too since Positano was the first town to import the bikini from France! Spiaggia di fornillo is one of the less touristy beaches and is a great place to spend the day. Perhaps rent a chair here to soak in the sun and local environs.

Day 7

FROM SORRENTO TO FLORENCE VIA NAPLES

This morning you will be privately transfered from your hotel in Sorrento to your hotel in Naples. We include first-class rail seats for your journey by train from Naples Rail Station to Firenze Rail Station.

Upon arrival at Florence Rail Station, you will be met by an English-speaking driver and privately transferred to your hotel. If your hotel room isn't ready for check-in, the hotel will store your luggage. You will be met by a local guide for a half-day walking tour of Florence which will end with included entry to The Accademia Gallery. The rest of the evening is at leisure to explore the city further.

Florence's museums, palaces, and churches house some of the greatest artistic treasures in the world. The most popular and important sites in Florence include the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Uffizi, the Bargello, and the Accademia. The churches of Santa Maria Novella and Santa Croce are veritable art galleries, and the library of San Lorenzo is a magnificent exhibition of Michelangelo's architectural genius. Wander some of the oldest streets in the city until you reach the Arno River, cross the Ponte Vecchio, and experience the "newest" area of Florence, the Oltrarno. Be sure to set aside time to see the vast and varied art collection housed in the Pitti Palace.

Private walking tour of Florence with an expert English-speaking guide is a perfect introduction to the masterpieces of this city: Michelangelo's David, Brunelleschi's Dome and Piazza Signoria. Meet with your private guide at your hotel and begin your tour of the historical centre of Florence. During the tour, you will see the Cathedral, the Baptistery and Piazza della Signoria, the political heart of Florence since the 1300’s, when Florence was the most powerful city in Europe.

The visit will continue to Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge of Florence, then you will cross the Arno River and arrive at the Pitti Palace, one of the best examples of Renaissance palaces. The tour will end at The Accademia Gallery (entrance included) where you can visit at your leisure.

The Accademia Gallery is a must stop for anyone visiting Florence. It houses the "David" of Michelangelo sculpted between 1501-1504 to be an outside decoration of the Cathedral of Florence. Instead, it became a symbol of the Florentine State commitment to freedom and independence, as well as a symbol of the Medici's defeat in 1494. It still personifies energy, vigor and courage, symbolizing the whole mankind fight for survival. His anatomy, later reproduced by Michelangelo’s contemporaries, was carefully depicted, thanks to the in-depth studies carried out by the great artist.
